EXHIBITION of the canvas "Maracudja" on the occasion of the "Art Shop" event

Its name of passionflower (passio in Latin meaning passion and flor, flower) would have been bequeathed to us by the Jesuit missionaries, who, when they arrived in South America in the 15th century, were struck by the shape and color of this flower.

    Virgin flowers,
    To your rivals,
    roses and lilies,
    I prefer you,
    When I will do
    In the thickets
    A crown
    which I surround
    my blond hair,
    Or that I give
    At the Madonna
    With my wishes.

    Nature painting by Florence Bonnot
    Wednesday 02 May 2018
At Fort-Fleur d'épée, the paintings of Florence Bonnot are exhibited alongside other works by other artists. (DR)
First exhibition for Florence Bonnot, self-taught painter whose inspiration hovers “between sky and sea”. She is accompanied by Maggy and Jonathan Pépin, mother and son, who exhibit alongside her the ancient art of illumination and sculpture.
Florence Bonnot presents her paintings from May 4 to 6 at Fort Fleur d'Épée. This is the first exhibition of this self-taught painter, who expresses herself completely independently, via oil painting, with a brush and then a knife. His works are essentially figurative and convey images of a "revisited nature" where emotion, color and luminosity prevail. "What makes one painter different from another is less his technique than his personal vision of the world," says Florence Bonnot. That's what makes it unique." Through her painting, she admits, soberly, trying to express and transmit an emotion. Thus, when she paints the sky, she does not seek to "reproduce it identically", but to "represent" it.

From Friday May 4 to Sunday May 6, exhibition at Fort Fleur d'Épée in Le Gosier. Friday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. FREE ENTRANCE.
